Now fast-forward to a couple of weeks ago. The elder of the two blew some cash and got himself a PS2. (The slim version. Bastard. :P) So after procrastinating for a bit, I take out my old PSX (About 7 years old and still runs.) from his room and start to take it up to my younger brother's room. I pass by my niece's/sister's room and stop. Now three things run though my head. First thing was my brother already had the X-Box in his room. Second was he could abuse the hell out of the other's PS2 whenever he wanted. Third is that whenever my niece tried to play on any of their systems, they would play against her and (usually) beat her mericlessly. Mainly due to her have little to no gaming experience.
So a change of plans was made, and instead of going into the brother's room, the PSX went into my niece's. Along with Pocket Fighter, Megaman X4, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Threads of Fate. (Hey, that's good compared to some of the other stuff I've got, like Resident Evil and Xenogears. :P) Also the stipulation that if her homework wasn't done, it gets yanked until the weekend.
And this was a couple of days ago. She's not a big fan on RPGs rihgt now, but love the hell out of Megaman and Pocket fighter, and is already getting better at them. For instance: Pocket Fighter, first night: Nothing but kick. Second night: She's learned to do alternate between punch and kick, thus pulling off diffrent flash combos, and she has mashed her way into doing specials. And has held her own against the AI, albiet on the lower settings. (She beat Sakura with only a silver of life left, compared to the AI's half life bar.)
Hey, she's 7½. At the age, I was trying to kick the shit out of Super Mario Bros. (And to this day, I still can't beat that game without cheating.)
